2. What are the differences between your courses?
We offer a wide choice of TEFL certificate courses that vary in duration and price but all of our courses are based around the same principle, which is to provide high quality, practical training. Our courses all use the same core materials. The principle differences are:
- Our online course is studied 100% by distance learning. You are assigned your own personal tutor who will guide and help you through the course but as it is a distance learning program there is no classroom time and no teaching practice component. You will however, have the opportunity to see actual lessons taking place through CD-ROM. The advantages of this course are that you are able to study at your own pace, you can take the course from anywhere in the world and the course is priced very competitively.
- Our onsite courses require you to attend one of our training centers (in a variety of attractive locations). These courses are 100% based in the classroom and as a result you will get the opportunity to practice teaching real students of English. Onsite courses are intensive and the course duration is 4 weeks.
- Our combined courses combine the best of the online and onsite courses. You study the principles and theories online at your own pace and then go to one of our training centers (for just 2 weeks) to gain classroom teaching practice.

4. Is your certificate accepted internationally and does it meet international standards?
Yes and yes. Graduates of our courses are able to find TEFL teaching positions around the world. TITC training centers (Phuket, Barcelona and Rome) are externally moderated and validated by IATQuO, and all TEFL International courses are externally validated and moderated by a Board of Academic Advisors. This ensures quality and consistency of training and support services.

6. What qualifications/experience do I need?
In order to take one of our courses it is not necessary
to have any prior teaching experience or qualifications.
Each application is judged upon its own merit. As far as
entrance requirements are concerned, if you are to be a teacher
of English, a high standard of both spoken and written English
is necessary. By this it is meant your use of English, not
necessarily your knowledge of grammatical terminology, you
will learn this on the course itself. If you are a person
of "more mature years" or a senior citizen, do
not let this in itself put you off from applying. Providing
you are receptive to learning you should have no problems.

7. Do I need knowledge of other
languages?
No you do not. TITC uses the international standard communicative
approach to teaching, where English is the only language
used in the classroom.

8. Is there an age limit?
Whilst there is no official upper age limit, you must be
at least 19 years of age for your application to be considered.
We have successfully trained (and found employment for) graduates
of all ages.

9. When is the best time to do
a course?
There is really no best or worst time. Jobs are available
year round with academic terms varying from continent to
continent.

10. Can
non-native speakers of English take the course?
Applications are welcomed regardless of first language,
race or nationality. The only requirements are a proficient
level of English, evidence of study at a higher education
level (work experience may be accepted in place of academic
achievements) and an understanding of the intensive nature
of the course. TEFL International has trained
teachers from a number of different backgrounds with great
success. We consider it our responsibility to guide all trainees
to successful completion of the course.
