Location
Experience the best of Spain in its lively capital city, Madrid. Discover hidden parks, small shops where artisans make and sell their wares, or colorful decorations on the walls in the old neighborhoods of La Latina, Lavapies and Rastro.
Amongst the beautiful architecture of Madrid, you can indulge in food and drink at local bars, meet ordinary Madrileños, visit covered permanent markets selling fresh fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and such.
Add to this the Madrileños belief that a good night out is not a treat, it’s your God-given right and you’ve found a place where people are dedicated to living life to the fullest. Most residents of Madrid speak Castilian Spanish, so if you also want to improve your Spanish, it's the place for you.
English is not widely spoken in Madrid, so as you can imagine, there's plenty of demand for qualified English teachers there. Madrid is located in the centre of the Iberian peninsula. It is the highest European capital, sitting some 646 meters (roughly 2,200 feet) above sea level and has a population of over three million.
Madrid is a fairly cosmopolitan city but still retains a very Spanish outlook on life. It is characterised by intense cultural and artistic activity and a very lively nightlife or more than often lively early morning life.
The Spanish have a verb for it: “madrugar” - to stay out partying all night and get home at 7 or 8 next morning. According to the Madrid tourist board, a good night out ends at around 7 a.m. after visiting at least 5 different night spots. Not that we encourage this during the TEFL course!
Furthermore, as Madrid is the hub of Spain, you have access to all other parts of Spain and Europe. An hour’s flight away, you could be skiing in the Sierra de Guadarrama, or sunbathing on a gorgeous beach.
At TEFL International in Madrid we will do everything possible to make sure you have an enjoyable time in this fantastic region. We are a small and friendly team offering you the warmest welcome. Our Madrid teaching staff and support staff have many years of TEFL experience.
Our staff are permanent residents of Madrid that have invaluable knowledge that will help you get to know the city from the ground up Madrid is certainly the place to immerse yourself in Spanish culture as there is plenty of intellectual stimulation available. The city hosts some of the best museums in Europe, such as the Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen Bornemizsa.
If you want to sharpen your Spanish language skills then Madrid is the place as few Madrileños speak English. Being the Spanish capital, and the business and financial center of Spain, Madrid is by far the best place to find TEFL jobs in Spain.
Madrid has some of the best entertainment in all of Spain – you’ll never be stuck for somewhere to go at just about any hour of the day.
With all this to offer, Madrid is an amazing place to enjoy, and the perfect location to have fun. History and character, artists and theatre and a great nightlife. " Very professionally run course, it exceeded my expectations. The teachers are passionate about their subject. The course is well structured and everyone in the school makes every effort to ensure that the trainees are able to get the most from their experience. Teaching skills input sessions were excellent, very logical and easy to follow. Without hesitation, I would recommend the course. Good value, first rate teaching and support. I've enjoyed the experience immensely and feel I have learned a great deal. "
