This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:

I have learned a tremendous amount from this course! I have relearned grammar, which I knew very well in 12th grade but haven?t studied for 45 years until now. I have learned for the first time many teaching techniques, especially the ESA technique. And I have learned how to use the internet to find help in lesson planning, games and other educational activities. I also learned resources to use for that. I plan to start using what I have learned in Romania where I work with my husband as a missionary, perhaps first with the children that our foundation assists and also Romanian friends who wish to improve their english. I won?t be working with an EFL school, however, so I won?t have the benefit of their course books or curriculum. But in Romania all children take english, starting in 2nd grade. However, most of them learn no oral english even by the time they have studied english for 6 years, since their english teachers don?t use english in the classroom and in fact, many of them don?t even know english. So working on teaching pronunciation and spoken english will be a major focus for me in Romania. After we retire in a few years, I can also use these skills when we return to the U.S., because there is a large immigrant population in virtually every large city there.
