This course has shown me that there are various things I need to brush up on in order to be able to effectively teach my students. I plan on buying a grammar book and reviewing and perhaps even relearning some rules that I have forgotten or never really learned well to begin with. In order to be good teachers I think it is important to thoroughly understand the material that we are trying to teach as well as to never stop learning ourselves. Additionally, in reevaluating what I have been teaching and how I have been teaching up until this point I realize that I have placed more of a focus on reading and writing and failed to work on my students oral and listening communication skills. Unit 20 has given me some good ideas for fun, interactive ways to get the students involved and confident in thinking and speaking in english. Also, I plan on taking some of the ideas I got from this course and implementing them into my class and using some of the website links offered in the TEFL course as teaching and learning material resources.
