TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Dahlia
Dahlia is a graduate of ITTT's 120-hour online TESOL course. In this TESOL review, she recommends the course for anyone thinking of earning a TESOL or TEFL certificate especially those with backgrounds in teaching and education. ITTT's courses assume no prior teaching knowledge so are suitable for complete beginners to English language teaching or those looking to refresh their skills.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
These are sentences containing 'if' (or similar expressions such as 'when') which refer to past, present and future possibilities. There are two clauses, the 'if' clause and the main clause, and either can come in the first part of a conditional sentence. The 'if' clause contains the condition that has to be satisfied before the action or state in the main clause can be realised. We can also think of the main clause as expressing the consequence. In the above example, the condition of my having enough money has to be satisfied before I can buy a new car. My buying a new car is the consequence. This unit covers the qualities of a good teacher and the roles he or she should have at different moments during a normal class, learners' characteristics, differences, levels, and motivation. Having some experience as a teacher, this unit helped me analyze my performance in class and determine that I should continue to improve my awareness of individual students' weaknesses to help them grow, as well as my roles as an organizer and a prompter. It also reminded me that I can always feed into students' original motivation, but also motivate them further by teaching well structured, fun lessons.
