TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Peter
Peter from Hungary recorded this TEFL review video after completing his course with ITTT. Peter has been teaching English to young learners for 12 years. He took the 120-hour course with tutor support and videos and learnt many new things as he was studying. Peter hopes to teach elsewhere in the world now that he has earned his certificate from ITTT.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
The content of this unit really breaks down the basics of a good learner and a good teacher. It allows for the re-identification of the basics and reminds us as teachers the things that students need in order to continue to be successful learners. The information given allows for the teacher to step back into the students shoes and remember some of the qualities that encourage them in the classroom. Understanding the different types of teachers allows for educators to re-evaluate their teaching style and determine when and during which types of lessons are those teaching styles most useful. Many different teaching aids can be used to make lessons more interesting, effective and less dependent on the textbook. Different schools, of course, have different resources available to teachers. Following are some of the resources: White/black board Interactive whiteboard (IWB) Overhead projector (OHP) Visual aids Worksheets and work cards Cassette recorder CD player Videos and DVDs Video camera Dictionaries Course books Resource books Photocopier Computers Online resources Teacher should choose and use these resources effectively based on lesson plan and students level.
