TEFL Videos - Are there any age limits for TEFL teaching?
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This was the most challenging section so far, for me at least. I can totally understand why people learning English as a second language would have a tough time with this material. Honestly, I understood everything pretty well except for the phrasal verbs. A lot of care and time needs to go into the transmission of this material . . . I wouldn't be surprised if I missed two of the three questions about phrasal verbs on the test. Maybe when considering how to improve this course it would be beneficial to talk more about the difference between type 2 and 3 phrasal verbs, just a thought.The purpose of this unit overall was to establish the nuances and dynamics of the teacher-learner relationship. Understanding the different roles that a teacher can take in the classroom and what qualities can make them most successful is useful when thinking about how to use class time, and how to approach our students. Likewise, for a teacher, understanding what motivates different students, how their learning levels may vary, and where learner's may struggle enables teachers to capitalize on the strengths of their students and avoid demotivating or hindering their education in any way.
