TEFL Videos - English Grammar -- Present Perfect Continuous -- Usage -- TESOL Course
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
As a student who has been taught linguistics in my college courses, I understood this unit. But I think it would still be difficult to try and teach the students this because there is so much content to learn. I think it’s important to break down every part of this unit and go over it slowly. I think using diagrams and models will greatly enhance the learning process. I also think it’d be important to look at the intonation part of the lesson because everyone does it naturally when they are asking questions, wanting to get a reaction out of their peers or just simply making a statement.I've learned that in order to teach English grammar, a teacher has to have an understanding of English grammar. Because English is my first language, I didn't have to learn English grammar in order to use it (except in writing to a certain degree). Breaking down the grammatical units of the English language is important for English learners in order to be able to digest grammar rules. While all languages have grammatical structures, their use can vary significantly from language to language thus non-English speakers must become accustomed to the particular rules and structures of English grammar.
