TEFL Videos - Authentic non authentic materials
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
EFL teachers may face problems unique to certain situations or class types. For example larger classes, apart from the discipline of the students creating a problem, may also present problems such as teaching students at various levels or capabilities. It is important that activities appeal to both the stronger and weaker students so not no one is discouraged. A good tip is to have on hand simple, individual activities that students can do to keep busy while others are still working. It also helps to pair strong and weak students so that the stronger students can assist the weaker ones.In this unit we talk about Productive Skills, which include speaking and writing. Both of which have the main purpose of communicating. Both are extremely important skills, but writing is often neglected for speaking in tefl courses. With both speaking and writing there is a focus on fluency and accuracy. Accuracy focuses on producing correct language and fluency focuses on flow and effectiveness of the words being said. It is important to note that speaking and writing skills are different. Some of the major components of writing include spelling, handwriting, layout and pronunciation.
