TEFL Videos - Why take a TEFL course?
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
I am very happy with the content of this course! I have learnt so much and I really feel that this is all going to help me so much and help my students so much when I start teaching English. I am glad to have the content of this course available to look back on if/when I need to. Troubleshooting classroom issues has been a good thing to learn as I now know that there will be many issues in the classroom but they are for the most part avoidable and can even provide better ways of understanding students and where improvements are necessary for both myself as a teacher and for the students. This unit covers the receptive skills of reading and listening. I found this module very interesting due to several points. Firstly, I hadn't really considered that the skill of listening could be more difficult than reading to acquire, due to the fact that information is not \"captured' and can not be referred to. Secondly, that it is very important to select topics that are of interest and will engage your students - I have experienced this in the past. Also, the point about 'deducting from context' was interesting. I can see how this could cause difficulties for some foreign students.
