Why teach in China
Below you can read feedback from an ITTT graduate regarding one section of their online TEFL certification course. This unit examines various teaching methods which can be used when introducing new vocabulary items and explaining new grammatical structures. We have looked at what factors make items more or less difficult to comprehend. We have considered what is actually relevant for students to learn, so time is not wasted on unnecessary concepts. This unit also revises the ESA methods, i.e. the 3 phases Engage, Study and Activate, and how these can be arranged in various manners to form 'straight arrow' lessons, 'patchwork' lessons, or 'boomerang' type lessons.
