TEFL Videos - ELIAS
Elias is from the United States and enjoyed working on our 120-hour online TEFL course. He enjoyed the 20 units and learned many new teaching skills. He is excited to start working abroad teaching English as a second language.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
The unit on Conditionals and reported speech was in depth, there was quite a bit to take in and I will be reviewing this and all my units again. I've never had to learn about conditionals before so it was interesting to learn about the different types. Question 19 has made me think quite a bit, the question - Catherine said, \"I have never eaten octopus\". It's either 2 or 4, Catherine has never, or Catherine had never. I'm running with Catherine has never, by assuming that the question posed to me would be - \" What did Catherine say?\" I'll find out soon enough when I hit submit I guess :)This was a very interesting section. It talked about moving to another country to work and what you should research before applying to/taking a position. It also talked about hwat you would want to ask the potential employer. Additionally, it went over cover letters and how to efficiently construct one One of the last items I remember it discussing was tests and organizations that are available for teachers to join. I learned some great questions to ask, as well as some good job and organization websites. It was an exciting section to read as I hope to venture out of the US one day and teach!
