Listening is a harder skill than reading due to the lack of time to comprehend and also the difference in accents, speeds and tones. This unit focuses on the importance of reading and which topics will help motivate the students however it only touches on the issues students face with listening skills and how they can be overcome. Also, beyond choosing texts (audio) which are of interested to students the teacher also needs to think about providing many different english accents to the students (if they are at a stage to be able to comprehend mulitple accents).
