TEFL Videos - TEFL 120-hour Course - Unit 10
Unit 10 provides students with the opportunity to see two real English language classes in progress one effective and one not so effective. During this unit you will analyze the two lessons and gain an understanding of how your attitude as a teacher and the way you interact with your students affects their ability and motivation to learn.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
I've learnt about English language teaching/learning theories and methods before but this unit gave me much clearer information about language teaching techniques and procedures. I came to know about ESA, an effective teaching method which I've never learnt before. Giving sample teaching or examples of each stage of this teaching method made me clear about it. It was also interesting and worth noting how to correct students' mistakes and errors in a clear and effective way. However, I think it would be better if lesson planning was not given in general but provided in a bit more details.peter tilehust gave an enjoyable video presentation. of course I have assumed the video is involved in the course description of the word unit. his style was crisp and clear. but then I am rather fond of seeing and listening to most forms of material. the written unit itself did in part not correspond exactly to the video. that can lend itself to confusion for a trainee teacher such as me. for example peter does not use words such as beginner and advanced when referring to students capabilities. generally I did learn much and look forward to the presentation of the next video and unit 2.
