TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - AMY GOSEWISCH
In this TEFL review student Amy describes her experience during her TEFL/TESOL course in Seville, Spain. She talks about the course location and the accommodation and the friendly and helpful staff. Amy, like many trainees, was fortunate enough to be offered a teaching position while doing the course. ITTT's courses are designed to give you the skills and confidence you need to teach English as a foreign language. We welcome all applications from native speakers as well as fluent non-native English speakers, regardless of nationality, age, gender or race.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Pronunciation and phonology are an integral part of learning English because they provide the learner the way to understand spoken word and to communicate whatever message they need to communicate. This is especially important as many of their interactions will be auditory instead of literary. Understanding intonation, for example, provides learners with the ability to ask questions in more complicated ways and to have a deeper understanding of what is being said. Furthermore, other aspects such as stress, can be used to provide emphasis where it may have otherwise been incredibly difficult. There is a lot to think about in this unit. My rule of thumb when it comes to technology and classroom equipment is that if something can go wrong it most likely 'will' go wrong. Always have a backup plan. Don't rely on technology. I've seen so many educators rely too much on their classroom aids that when these items are absent they freeze up. In a few cases, instructors have cancelled their classes. I would also say that it is important for the teacher remain in charge of the class, not the technology. In the same way that students should not run a class technology shouldn't either.
