In this unit, I learned about three fundamental topics in teaching language: teaching vocabulary, grammar, and introducing language functions. Methods of selecting what to teach, how to teach it, and what level to teach it at were covered as well. I was also taught how to effectively utilize the different Engage Study Activate strategies for teaching. After completing this unit and seeing how the ESA model applies to these very practical topics in teaching English, I feel I have a clear understanding of the basics of teaching and how to craft a unique lesson plan.
