TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Nathan
In this video TEFL review, Nathan, a graduate of ITTT's 120 hour online TEFL/TESOL course shares his thoughts and experiences of the course. Nathan had been teaching for a number of years prior to doing the course. He discusses the benefits of doing the course with the tutor support option. Nathan believes that the course has enhanced his effectiveness as a teacher and it has improved his confidence in the classroom. He found the content of the course to be very relevant.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit was about observing two different classes and how they are one. The first video was an example of how not to run a class and the reasons why. It showed that you how a teacher should not act and what they should not do in a class room. The second video showed how to implement what was learned in the precious units and how it all comes together. It gave an example of how to teach a class and what to look for when teaching. It showed how to engage a class room and what the hallmarks of a good teacher is the engages his/her student to learn more effectively and how to structure a class.Within the class, you as the teacher have the greatest control over the physical environment, and the spirit of the class. By the spirit of the class, I mean the expectations, responsibilities, and roles within that class. If the class is to be an ordered but flexible class, it mirrors your own habits. Part of building rapport is to model the virtues you wish to see in the class. Without such modeling, the students (especially young ones) will imitate your action and spurn your verbal instruction. A unity of action and purpose is in order before you can expect such responses in your students.
