TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Peter
Peter took the 120-hour online TEFL course with ITTT. In this TEFL review, Peter mentions how he found the course to be well designed and well thought out. One thing Peter discusses is how earning a TEFL certificate and teaching English abroad is a great way to learn about new cultures and share about your own country with people all over the world. Peter would like to continue studying with ITTT and the many different courses that are available.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit has done a good job really breaking down the parts of speech involving the present tense and the different uses of it. I have learned a much better understanding between the Present Perfect and the Present Perfect Continuous which can be very difficult for English language learners to grasp as well as for us to teach. I liked the fact that for each breakdown of the different tenses, there was a usage portion that helped to explain when that particular tense is used and why along with examples which has really helped me to better understand how to explain this to future students.I can imagine doing some really fun things with a video camera and students. I had never thought of using - or practically any current smart phone - to allow students to create their own little shows. I could imagine letting them watch snippets of funny American comedies with simple language - The Simpsons would probably be a good one - and then letting groups of children write their own short scripts, film their show, and share it with rest of the students. However, I don't know where and what level of students I'll be teaching, so I have no clue if the students will have smartphones.
