Problems related to rapport cannot be solved by grammar drills and over correction. It seems that a more informal and play-based approach would be more appropriate. The goal is to help students feel more comfortable in the teaching environment. This would be a little more challenging in a big class scenario. Creative approaches like group work or pair work can help give each person in a big group chances to participate. Listening exercises should be done at the pace of the majority of the class with vocabulary-building exercises for the early finishers.
