TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Sophie
English student Sophie describes her experience as a TEFL/TESOL student with ITTT. In this TEFL review she talks about how the course gave her the opportunity to study with people from many different countries. She also outlines how supportive the trainers were throughout the course.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
There is probably nothing more than most beginner students fear more than tests of any kind. Although they are necessary to help both student and teacher gauge their progress. It is important to find a balance between good testing scores and students actual knowledge and interest in information. Teachers should also keep in mind that some people 'test' well and others panic and fail tests even if they know the information inside and out. Once again, like everything else on teaching, you really must connect with students and make sure that they are understanding the material you are teaching. The material of this unit consisted of two videos. Each video was of an actual ESL class in progress, however, the first video was taught in a way that discouraged the students from learning and only served to confuse and intimidate them. The second lesson was taught in a way that encouraged the students in a less intimidating and fun way. The objective in watching these two videos was to distinguish the differences between a successful and unsuccessful lesson. They demonstrated just how much the teacher’s attitude effects not only the students, but also the lesson’s success itself.
