TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Steve
In this TEFL review video Steve describes his TEFL experience with ITTT. He talks about how the course has given him the opportunity to meet some wonderful people from different countries, to learn new skills and given him the ability to begin his teaching career. Gaining a TEFL/TESOL certificate is the first step towards an exciting and rewarding experience teaching English overseas. ITTT's courses will give you the grounding you need to effectively teach local students providing them with meaningful and productive lessons.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Unit three, course development, was filled with information regarding syllabi, analysis, tests, their different types as well as (naturally), course development. I learned a great deal of information from this unit, especially which types of tests should be used (and when) for particular situations. I see how the order of these tests are not merely the \"teacher's choice\" and that each one will help the teacher determine different criteria. Furthermore, the examples given just from this unit quiz for determining the skills of reading, writing, speaking, and listening are a great help to me.This topic basically covered about materials and management. Besides the ideas of obtaining authentic and non-authentic materials as teaching resources, we also learned on how to create non-authentic materials using different resources like books and the internet. Lastly, we also had learned there are differences into lesson planning for young learners. As we had previously learned that we shall group the students into the categories of 5-9 and 9-13, we understand that the lower age category shall apply the method of Engage and Practices instead of the ESA method that we had learned before.
