TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Stratton
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
I learned new organizations from this unit. Examples of new organizations that I did not know are the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES), Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), and the Association of Recognized English Language Services (ARLES). I also learned what this course defines as a ?young learner.? A ?young learner? is a child between the ages of 5 and 13 years old. "This unit talks about the whole process of learning the way of teaching English language for young learners in an effective way. The expected age of young learners could be between 5 and 13. However, the question may arise as to whom we will define as Young Learners. In an employment prospects point of view, this learning may help an English teacher to enhance his/her knowledge in an additional field. The working conditions and salaries may vary upon different countries. However, employed by a school will provide an assurance of income rather than working for yourself. The working hours obviously differ according to different company and school's requirements. However, expected working hours could be between 18 and 35 maximum per week. Generally, 25 hours per week has been recommended as a reasonable hour to work."
