TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Zanab
Zanab took the in-class intensive TEFL course with TEFL International in Zhuhai, China. In this TEFL review video Zanab explains that before taking the course she had had no prior teaching experience and was not confident but now she has graduated she feels ready to teach English as a foreign language. During the course she had 8 hours of teaching practice when she taught young learners and students of varying levels. Zanab recommends the course in Zhuhai to anyone considering a TEFL course.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit gave an overview on different verb forms of the present tense, including usages of the different verb forms and example sentences. I found the common student errors to be particularly helpful. Being aware of common errors will help with teaching so that I know what to emphasize during the lesson. Additionally, the suggestions for activate stage lessons were helpful, as teaching verb tenses can seem ominous and overwhelming at first. However, breaking different aspects of the verb tenses down into individual activities makes sense and seems to be the best approach for teaching.Unit 13's title is \"Teaching Pronunciation & Phonology\" but its real title should be \"You will never get away with that\". Italian language, which is my native language, is mainly pronounced as it is written, with few exceptions (or so we feel anyhow). So in schools we never get to know the phonemic symbols, although we seem them in our dictionaries. In my life-long love affair with the English language I often came across these symbols, and with English being pronounced so differently from how it is written they come in handy, but as of today it is still quite a struggle I must say.
