TEFL Videos - Where are the best places to teach English abroad?
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Unit five is the simplest unit so far and In this unit, I have learned lot of useful things. How the students are arranged in the classroom, the importance of group, individual and pair work. They all have pros and cons, a good teacher will arrange the students according to their level of English, age, personalities, culture etc. It is important to build a good rapport with the students so that they can rely on you as a teacher. Try to maintain discipline while being patient and nice to students and making sure they do what they are suppose to do in the classroom and outside assignments.Unit 15 provided an overview of testing and evaluation types and procedures. I learned about the different types of tests used to evaluate a students level including placement and diagnostic tests. I learned about the need for progress tests to evaluate how the students are learning the material and if there are any trouble spots that I might need to review again with the class. I learned about proficiency tests that fall into three general types including general, business and academic English. The many different tests, their names and their particular uses were also discussed in detail.
