The ideas in the section were to help us understand how the process of productive skills, writing and speaking, are learned. We have to look at whether we are trying to complete an accuracy or fluency activity. It's helpful to understand that accuracy activities should be more controlled, whereas fluency activities are more creative in nature. I think it was helpful to see that both are needed and how the focus of the instructor must change for each one.
