This unit was a challenge to complete. I have seen phonetic charts before but I have never studied them in such great depth. I am used to languages with tones as I’ve done some Mandarin learning myself. There, the tone/stress is very important, otherwise one risks saying something totally unrelated to what they wish to say. In this unit I got great insight into how to teach phonetics to students and help then pronounce words better. I believe this technique will help them master the words in such a way that spelling will be like a walk in the park.
