As far as I know, learning grammar is quite important for English learners.start from basic grammar, gradually improve. English uses the letters a, b, c,d… to combine into sentences to express the wishes of the speaker. In today’s English, the combination is called grammar. Grammar explains how words are organized in a sentence. When you speak and write, you must put the words in the right order so that others can understand what you say or write. It is unquestionable that learning grammar is very vital for English learnners Firstly, grammar helps to communicate easily and accurately by mastering the English grammar, you will understandexactly what native speakers want to say.without grammar,you will not be able to understand or misunderstand the meaning of the interlocutor. For example, there are 2 sentence: I am in love with him and I was in love with him.The difference is very small( am- was), but the “him” in each sentence has a very different relationship with the speaker already. Secondly,mastering grammar will help learners develop and perfect other skills. Grammar is the rules of a language, so it is highly normative. If vocabulary is the material for communication, grammar can be considered as the backbone to help sentences work smoothly. To listening, grammar is the foundation for you to understand what others are talking about. There are many people who think that just listening to others, stringing the vocabulary is able to understand the content of the whole sentence or paragraph. This may be true for regular sentences, but if the content is more complexand more stringing, using relative pronouns, anagrams, comparative structures, etc…,you have to rely on grammar to understand what they want to say. To speaking, when starting to learn English, you have to rely on grammar to form sentences and express fully what you want to say. To reading, similar to listening skills, when reading a text, you must use grammar to understand the meaning of the passage you want to convey. Continued learning good grammar will give you a foundation to learn other skills like listening,speaking, etc…, so that you can learn English well. Because of that, grammar is very important not only in writing but also in communication to convey the will to others or express your thoughts on a problem. Just like in vietnamese grammar, saying wrong grammar sometimes brings different interpretations to the listener. Some common errors are with sentence structure, subject/verb tense, punctuation, spelling, and other basic mechanics and parts of speech. Even something as simple as a misplaced comma can completely change the meaning of a sentence. For example: "Let's eat Mom." vs. "Let's eat, Mom." Grammar is often said to be the tree trunk and branches of a language while vocabulary and functions are the leaves that beauty and variety. Grammar makes written content more readable and in turn more interesting. Proper grammar is also essential for understanding English as a second language as well as for learning a new language, since all languages follow grammatical patterns. Today,learning English often focuses on communication,which is mainly listening and speaking,to serve for study and work. Therefore, there are many ideas that grammar is’nt important.So,we don’t need to learn grammar.But that is the wrong idea. In fact,learning grammar is also essential for your English learning process. If you compare learning English with building a house, then English grammar serves as the foundation and frame of the house.A solid foundation and frame will make the house tall, strong and can build or expandmany other design details, and vice versa. And in order, the foundation and the fram must be the first built part. Through this comparative image, it can be affirmed,start learning English by studying and reinforcing grammar. In conclusion, just as rules are necessary in everyday situations, grammar rules are likewise essential in everyday life for clarity of meaning and intent.
