In this lesson I learned that effective lesson planning incorporates the three lesson phases Engage, Study and Activate, and activities associated with each lesson. I also learned that it is difficult to gauge how long an activity may take in lieu of teaching experience. I also learned that learner objectives, personal objectives, and anticipated problems on behalf of the teacher and students are important to identify and consider when lesson planning. I found the sample worksheet that lists activities, objectives, anticipated problems, and anticipated section lengths particularly helpful because I am, primarily, a visual learner.
