This unit primarily concerned the different usages of materials for our classes. The first thing addressed was the difference between authentic and non-authentic materials. Authentic materials being real world, no designed materials, and non-authentic ones being one created for the purpose of ESL teaching. This unit also discussed the importance of lesson planning and how to effectively put together a lesson plan for a class. This unit also talked about the benefits and disadvantages of course books and the internet for use in the classroom. The final piece of the unit covered how to successfully manage a classroom.
