This unit covers a lot of information related to phonology. I typically do not focus enough on pronunciation-- I tend teach pronunciation in lesson slots as opposed to designing entire lessons centered on pronunciation. I found the examples of how we tend to link words/phrases interesting. I also appreciate the lesson about manner of articulation. Unfortunately, when I took a linguistics course a few years ago, we had to skip this lesson due to lack of time. However, I now feel much more competent in knowing terminology and how to distinguish between fricatives and affricates. The chart that demonstrates manner of articulation in conjunction with the place of articulation will guide a lot what I think about related to teaching pronunciation. I might be tempted to focus on particular sounds; however, I will also more broadly focus on intonation and rhythm in my lessons.
