TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - CORINTH | GREECE
In this ITTT TESOL review video a group of students discuss their experiences during their TESOL/TEFL course in Corinth, Greece. They outline some of the components of the course including the teaching practice that the course provides. ITTT's Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification qualifies you to teach English overseas. Having your TEFL certification is a first step to exploring countries and new destinations around the world, experiencing new cultures and being paid for the experience.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
This unit has taught me about the different materials/tools teachers can use to help students learn such as computer, white-boards, DVDs, pictures, videos, projectors and more. I learned about the advantages and disadvantages of boards like writing, drawing, engaging students in an activity where they can write on the white smart board. I liked how the unit talked about video sites like YouTube that teachers can go to for showing a video in class. As long as a teachers is prepared before the class starts and knows how to use the tools then, it could be a great way for students to be engaged.Reading and listening are receptive skills that are both equally important in any language. Two general reasons for reading and listening are (1), for a purpose (e.g. reading manuals or listening to directions) and (2), for entertainment (e.g. reading a book or listening to a radio show). The teaching and learning of both these skills can pose different problems. However there are various ways to approach this challenge, for instance, pre-teaching complex vocabulary, choosing material that interests and motivates the learners, using a rich variety of materials and activate phases/activities.
