TEFL Videos - TESOL TEFL Reviews - Video Testimonial - Eugenio
Eugenio is working in Japan as an English teacher and recently completed our 120 hour TEFL course. He enjoyed the course and was able to try the new-learned techniques in his classroom. He also worked closely with his tutor and was able to finish the course within a few weeks.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
In learning a language, students must learn the words (vocabulary), the rules the govern the words in the language (grammar) and be able to communicate using the language (function). Teaching grammar follows a fairly standard order, i.e. topics are usually taught in a specific order with simpler topics being taught before more complex topics. On the other hand, the vocabulary taught should depend on the students' needs. The functions of language include inviting, agreeing, suggesting. These are emphasized through active use and thus will be assimilated best during the activate phase of a lesson.
