In addition to its 120 hour in-class TEFL/TESOL course ITTT also offers a number of online courses as well as a combined course. To find out more about our training courses follow the links above.
This is what one of our TEFL graduates feels he has gained from the course, or a part of it, and how he plans to put into action what he has learned.
Modals, phrasal verbs, and passive voice all seem to have some connection with past participles; though the link is not exclusive. I know that lots of foreign students will have lots of questions about English grammar so this course gave me a good review of the basics. This is where the importance of anticipating student questions will come in handy the most. Because I am in the process of learning a foreign language myself, I have already received lots of questions from different language partners about English grammar, I hope this will better prepare me for the start of my teaching career. This unit was useful to learn techniques to deal with a variety of class types and issues. I now have a better understanding of how to handle mixed ability classes, and ways to stay in control. It is important for teachers to know their classes well, including their abilities, needs, and interests, in order to teach them effectively. This is especially true with classes who have issues raised in this unit, such as reluctant classes or ones with skills issues like listening. Knowing what works for them and how to encourage every student to participate is essential for improving their English.
