This lesson is rather simple. It describes different receptive (listening and reading) skills and the situations in which different types of comprehension are used. One major takeaway I had is the importance of tailoring content to the students. The use of Elvis as an example is particularly amusing- it's an old-person's activity, and would have no relevance to a class today. Similarly, things that interest me may not interest the class, and it's important I am aware of that so students feel they are learning relevant and engaging material. I thought describing the clothing choices in different countries was more effective, as most people, men and women, have some interest in fashion, particularly as it relates to foreign travel.
