This unit focuses on the Productive skills part of the English language, namely speaking and writing. It is very important that the teacher creates the need and desire for the students to participate in a communicative activity. We are shown reasons why students would be reluctant to speak in the classroom, and techniques on encouraging their interaction. We are given a ESA straight arrow example of a speaking activity lesson. The writing skills are broken down into 3 categories, handwriting, spelling and punctuation, with a straight arrow lesson example.
