The difficulties of engaging students to talk have been discussed previously, so the benefits of the strategies and toolkits provided here are obvious. Writing has been discussed less, but its clear that the importance of it, should not be forgotten, especially with the modern reliance on text based communication. Again the benefits of the ESA approach can be seen in the example lesson overviews provided, as well the individual exercises discussed in particular games. I have become more adept at recognising the structure of ESA lessons and have a deeper understanding of the benefits and how to apply to different areas of language and skills.
