I wasn't as knowledgeable about the various tests offered to English learners and this unit shed light on that. Also, it clarified the differences between the types of tests -- the names of which some teachers use wrongly interchangeably. I would say the most insightful information I learnt from this unit was the various external exams and this taught me that I may need to be more sensitive to the various motivations of my students and the pressures they face in studying for the different tests. Now I can research more on the different types of tests and cater my teaching to address different students' needs (if necessary).
