Unit 9 discusses the concept of planning lessons. While there are many ways to go about it, it really simplified the idea and gave several really strong examples. While some teachers believe that it is counter productive to plan their lessons, a good lesson plan can help with the overall structure of the lesson, act as a record of what has already been taught, and can act as a reference during the lesson. It is important to keep it simple and well organized. It is also important to not script the lesson, as this prevents the lesson from being flexible and adaptable to the students needs. It is also helpful to write out an evaluation after the lesson to know which aspects were successful and should be kept, as well as which aspects should be changed to better fit the class.
