Unit 9 discusses the role of lesson plans as a tool used by teachers in providing learners with the most effective use of class time. Lesson plans aid a teacher in identifying an objective, planning age/level appropriate activities (ESA), and procuring the needed materials to allow for a creating a class environment that is focused on learning. Another point of Unit 9 is the need for lesson plans to be flexible. While it is important to stay on time/task, it is just as important that students be engaged in the process. If a teacher does not allow for flexibility in lessons, opportunities for learners to be motivated through an activity they are enjoying is an opportunity for learning lost.
