Writing a lesson plan can be a very useful tool aiding the teaching in planning for the lesson, creating a working document for the teacher and for keeping record of lessons. Lesson plans are personal to a teacher and so they should be done how a teacher needs or prefers to see them. That being said it is better to have more information than less, especially for an inexperienced teacher. Lesson plans should include the teacher's name, date and time, learning objective, learning point, teaching aids, anticipated problems, procedures, phases of the ESA, timing (to the best of the teachers ability), interactions (to make sure it isn't teacher heavy), the class level, and the number of students. A self evaluation survey after the lesson is a great tool for keeping record of what worked and how you can improve.
