It seems important to have at least some general lesson plans written down to make sure the class stays focused and moves forward. I also didn't consider that having lesson plans for a record would be very useful. To keep track of what has and hasn't been taught and, for instance, what kind of material can be given on tests. I wonder how many teachers write their own gap fill exercises and things and how many buy ones provided or are provided such by schools.
