The focus of this unit is technique and methodology. An overview of ESA is given. When teaching English as a foreign language it is very important to Engage students, Study and give instruction on English itself, and get student Actively and creatively involved in using the language. There are many different methods for teaching ESL but the most effective methods involve student-cantered learning. The teacher should take the back-stage, in a sense. Correction should be kept to a minimum so students do not become discouraged. It is important but must be done with tact and in a manner which will be educative for the student.
