This unit is about teaching the productive skills - speaking and writing. A speaking lesson can include accuracy activities and fluency activities. Accuracy activities focus on producing correct language, while fluency activities focus on students having creative freedom in their speaking. It is important to encourage students to speak and help them be comfortable with their speaking. Handwriting, spelling, punctuation, and creative writing skills are the key principles to consider when teaching writing skills. In this unit I learned how to create a good speaking and writing lesson. I also learned that games can be very effective classroom tools because they can provide useful and controlled practice while also being fun and encouraging for the students.
