For the inexperience and beginning teacher planning the lessons in advance is a good idea in order to insure the class has direction. While planning the lesson it is important not to sacrifice flexibility. A lesson plan can be written different ways but in the beginning it is recommended that the inexperienced teacher follow the lesson plan format provided with the course. This will ensure that the lesson is organized and complete. This will provide the teacher with a working document that keeps the them on target during the lesson and serves as a future record of what's been covered. A plan should be kept simple. Structure it and maintain the same structure throughout. Keep it flexible and be constantly open to adaption when circumstances warrant. Be organized by checking your plan ahead of class to be sure you have the necessary aids and materials required for the class. Arrive a few minutes early and arrange the seating as desired. And be ready to greet your students in a friendly and positive manner thereby setting a tone which will help to insure a successful class experience.
