Lesson plans serve both as a teaching aid, and a record of class progress. They can also be used to measure the effectiveness of the teacher, and give insight into how future lessons can be improved, both for the students and the teacher. When planning a lesson, a teacher should have clear goals, and a specific but flexible (easily revised) way to achieve them. It should also include a variety of activities which balance out the lesson in terms of learned skills, and student engagement. A lesson plan should include language points, learning objectives, anticipated problems/solutions for the teacher and students,teaching aids, and personal aims. Procedures should include their timing, interaction (TS vs. SS), and their phase.
