Unit 8 was on the productive skills of speaking and writing. Accuracy and fluency in language are equally important but lessons plans differ based on which is the focus. Speaking in English does not give the student lots of time to prepare responses. Writing can give students time to think about how a sentence should come together or make corrections but does not necessarily help them with correct pronunciation.
