This last unit provides a brief overview of the different problems that might arise in teaching English. Whether you are teaching a new or an existing group, first classes should not use the course textbook, but be a time where teachers can get to know their students, their needs and their aspirations for learning English. In dealing with a classroom with students of varying levels of fluency, teachers can use different materials or have different groups of students do different tasks with the same material. I also learnt that teachers should encourage group work in large classrooms as well as for reluctant students.
