In Unit 14, I feel like I have learned that picking a good course book to go along with ESL lessons is important. I myself prefer to have a book on hand to get ideas from and also to learn different ways to teach different subjects. I do agree that not all material in course books should be followed from A-Z. We should know when to use them and when to take the material and adapt it to certain subjects making the lessons our own. I feel like the more experience we have as teachers we know when and how to adapt our lessons by using authentic materials, created materials, or both of them together in the classroom.
