This unit completed a two-part lesson on receptive and productive skills by focusing on speaking and writing - the two productive language skills. As the previous unit did for the receptive skills, this unit first examined the various components of speaking and writing in English, before going on to explore techniques for teaching speaking and writing skills to non-native English speakers. The unit finished with a brief overview of the use of games in the classroom, with some descriptions of their effectiveness for language learning, followed by a list of traditional games that are often used in language classrooms.
