The content of this unit consists of an a basic overview of teaching receptive skills, it explains methods in which a teacher can lower barriers for students into reading and listening to text and comprehending with confidence without knowing every word heard or read. It advises teachers how to reach the students and motivate them by creating interest through the exploration of all students interests and relating them to their study. I found the most valuable part of this unit the section on tasks which recommends an in depth comprehension exercise rather than a check of understanding to be conducted by the teacher.
